Low noise

Good dot quality has resulted in high noise for all former braille embosser models. Now this has changed. Braille Box is the first single sheet fed embosser to have a completely sealed off paper track and dot forming. This in combination with muffler ventilation gives a surprisingly low noise level.

Best sheet feeder

The core in making a good single sheet braille embosser is the sheet feeder. The sheet feeder used in Braille Box is the property of Index Braille and the best one ever to be used for Braille. The pick-up function is optimized for braille paper quality and tested to perfection. The paper tray holds up to 400 sheets of paper.

Index Braille's customers have asked for a faster, quieter braille embosser with larger sheet feeder. 4Waves PRO was a step on the way. Now Braille Box is here, our most excellent braille embosser yet. 

V4 electronic platform

V4 embossers from Index Braille use a two CPU system, where previously only one CPU was used. This is a huge step, making V4 embossers more stable, durable and simple than ever before.

Braille Box uses the same two CPU principles, only here four CPU's collaborate. Every printing head is controlled by its' own CPU. This puts the demanding braille printing mechanics under excellent control. 

The sheet feeder

Index Braille have invested in the tools and production rights to a professional sheet feeder with 400 page capacity. This sheet feeder has been a key to the Braille Box design, giving the three printing heads unbeatable stability.

We are convinced you will like Braille Box, why we have invested almost 20 times more in the development of this embosser then we did in the 1990's for Index Everest/4x4. Index Everest has been the market leader in its segment for the last 20 years.

Technical breakthroughs

Three embossing modules

Braille Box is equipped with three embosser modules embossing simultaneously. This is made better then ever before by using V4 electronics with a 2 CPU concept. In V4 embossers a larger Linux CPU is used for communication, user interface etc., and a smaller CPU controls motors and hammers.

In Braille Box the same principles are used, only here 4 CPU's control the embosser. One large CPU and 3 smaller, one for each printing head. In this way the development costs have been reduced without affecting the excellent quality.  

Professional sheet feeder

Braille Box is equipped with a professional sheet feeder. It is optimized for 120-180 gsm paper and the paper pickup is perfect. The 400 pages paper tray makes it possible to emboss large volumes of braille without loading new paper.

The professional sheet feeder will be a part of all Index Braille embossers for many years to come.  

Low noise level

In Braille Box the paper track and paper forming areas are totally closed from the outside. This has been possible by integrating the paper in/out trays. 

The noise which normally leaks out via the ventilation is closed by mufflers and the box is damped with the latest and most sophisticated noise absorbing technique.
