Dolphin Computer Access logo

Dolphin Computer Access has a simple goal: to create software products that allow visually impaired people to use mainstream information technology in its original form.

Close up image of a females' eyeUsing the same products as sighted people means individuals can retain their independence in education, industry and leisure. At the same time it allows prudent businesses, schools, colleges and universities to benefit from the knowledge, ideas and expertise of people who might otherwise be excluded.

There is no new operating system to learn and no need for sighted assistance. Through the use of Dolphin's screen enlargers, screen readers and Braille translators, users can operate word processors, spreadsheets, databases, the internet and more. Dolphin's product innovation and technical expertise means we keep pace with the rapid changes that take place in IT and are quick to respond to customer demand. From the company's inception in 1986, Dolphin was the first company to create a full range of access products for today's Microsoft operating platforms and has stayed ahead of the field ever since.

Introducing the Dolphin Pen

Imagine being able to walk up to any computer and within seconds find your access program running, and configured just the way you like it!

Dolphin Computer Access products Supernova, Hal, Lunar and Lunar Plus are now available to order in two separate editions: the PC Edition or the new Dolphin Pen Edition.

Using the Dolphin Pen means that users of Dolphin Computer Access software can carry their software with them and instantly run it on any Dolphin Pen Friendly PC, as if it were their own home system. Crucially, this means that the individual user’s settings are automatically applied to the system. As soon as the Dolphin Pen is removed, the software is no longer running and the PC is ready for another user to insert their Dolphin Pen and have their software running, with their own personal settings applied.

Lunar Screen Magnifier

If you have some sight, a screen magnifier such as Lunar Screen Magnifier can make the computer screen easier to see by increasing the size of everything on screen, optimising colours and minimising glare.

LunarPlus Enhanced Magnifier

If your eyes sometimes get tired, you may wish to add entry-level speech with LunarPlus and have your emails, web pages and other documents read aloud to you.

Hal Screen Reader

For those with little useful vision, a powerful screen reader like Hal Screen Reader will read aloud all screen text, menus, dialogs and controls so that you can operate the computer by listening instead of looking at the screen. Hal can also display screen information in Braille for users of the many supported Braille displays.

Supernova Reader Magnifier

For the ultimate in flexibility and choice, the award-winning Supernova Reader Magnifier provides combined magnification, speech and Braille, incorporating all the features of a screen reader and screen magnifier in one.

Cicero Text Reader

Dolphin also provide a number of compatible products. Cicero Text Reader will turn your computer and scanner into a reading machine, enabling you to read printed material independently and in privacy.
