Licensing Information

Single user licence

Dolphin software is licensed for a single user only, on any computer owned, operated and under the direct control of the purchaser. Support will not be provided on machines not owned or operated by the licensed user. Purchasers of the single user licence receive a box containing the product CD (including online help), print manual, quick reference guides in print, quick reference guides in Braille (Supernova and Hal only), large character keytops (except Hal), and a CD case containing full manual and interactive tutorials recorded on audio CD. Each single user licence has a unique serial number found on the packaging and in the About Box in the software control panel.

Multi-user licence

Following the purchase of a full, single user licence, additional users may be added to the licence at a discounted rate to form a Multi-user licence. Additional users may be added at any time within the same version number by quoting the original serial number. (Should an upgrade become available, the entire licence must be brought up to date before new users may be added.) Additional media (manuals, audio CD, quick reference guides) may be purchased as required at list price.

Multi-user licences may be used by as many people as the software is licensed for on any computer owned, operated and under the direct control of the purchaser WITHIN A REGISTERED LOCATION. If additional locations are required, they must be registered with Dolphin. Once a maximum of 50 users is reached at any one registered location, that location is considered to own a blanket licence to use the software, and more users may be added at no charge. Other locations registered by the purchaser should continue to build their licence until they reach the maximum of 50 users.

Public access licence

In public access environments (e.g. libraries, universities) where there may be an unlimited or unknown number of users, the multi-user software may be licensed per computer workstation using the same discount structure as the multi-user licence.
